At Porterhouse Medical, we are passionate about the work we do with our partners to help improve people’s lives, which includes using our communications expertise to help raise awareness of disease symptoms, such as ovarian cancer.
Each year, over 230,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Ambiguity of symptoms often results in ovarian cancer being confused with other, less serious disorders. As a result, ovarian cancer is often diagnosed late, when the disease has already spread, leaving many women with a poor prognosis. With around 65% of cases of ovarian cancer resulting in death each year, and this expected to increase to 70% by 2035, ovarian cancer has the lowest survival rate of all female cancers.
Awareness can help with early detection; therefore, at Porterhouse Medical, we are keen not only to raise money to help fund research into ovarian cancer, but also to raise awareness about the symptoms of this disease so it can be caught as early as possible, improving the chances of survival.
Please see our visual below and read our article for further statistics about ovarian cancer and information about the common symptoms to watch out for.

To support World Ovarian Cancer Day 2018, the team at Porterhouse Medical dressed in teal and baked amazing cupcakes to raise money for Ovacome, the UK ovarian cancer support network.
A special thanks to Nadia and our team in teal for their culinary contributions and to all those who took part. Your contributions are much appreciated!
Proud and passionate, we are Porterhouse!
