As part of our mission to improve people’s lives, Porterhouse offers every team member paid volunteering days each year to support a charity of their choice. This initiative reflects our belief that supporting causes close to our employees’ hearts helps create a more engaged, compassionate, and community-minded workplace.

We are proud to share a recent experience from our colleague, Kate Cooper, Account Director, who dedicated her time to ChoirBLAST, a charity that brings people together through music, fostering inclusivity, connection, and creative expression. She volunteered at their flagship event—the UK’s largest non-competitive contemporary choir festival, bringing together over 75 choirs from across the globe. This year’s event even welcomed a choir from as far as Adelaide, Australia. The festival celebrates performance, connection, and community—values that align closely with Kate’s passion for music and outreach.

As part of her volunteering, Kate also took to the stage with Farncombe Jazz Choir, one of the many participating groups. The choir is led by Phoebe Gaydon, the talented founder of ChoirBLAST.

Kate described her experience as “fun, fabulous and feel-good.”  Saying that, “Singing does that to you and anyone and everyone can get involved! 😊”
