World Hemophilia Day 2019 – Reaching Out: The First Step to Care

World Hemophilia Day 2019

First established in 1989 by the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH), World Hemophilia Day is a day on which the bleeding disorders community works together to mark the continuous advances in treatment of this disease and raise awareness among the wider public of the issues faced by this community with respect to proper care. Bleeding disorders include not only haemophilia but also von Willebrand disease, rare clotting factor deficiencies and inherited platelet disorders.

This year, World Hemophilia Day focuses on OUTREACH and the IDENTIFICATION of undiagnosed and undertreated people with bleeding disorders, with the tagline ‘Reaching Out: The First Step to Care’. The principal objectives of this day are to raise global awareness of the disorders and highlight that many people are not receiving the care they need.

As haemophilia experts, the team at Porterhouse Medical understand only too well the issues facing the bleeding disorders community and the need to raise awareness for people affected by these conditions.

Our infographic highlights three important facts about bleeding disorders to help raise awareness of the urgent need for ‘treatment for all’. Please take a look to learn about the numbers of people affected by these conditions, or visit the WFH website to find out more: https://www.wfh.org/.
