Strengthening Our Scientific Expertise: Welcome Tatenda

Porterhouse Medical is thrilled to welcome Tatenda Mutshiya as the newest member of our global scientific services team.

Tatenda joins us as an Associate Medical Writer, bringing a strong background in neuroscience and precision medicine. She holds a BSc in Neuroscience from the University of Central Lancashire and an MSc in Genomic Medicine from Queen Mary University of London, with a focus on oncology, rare diseases, cardiovascular health, and neurology.

Tatenda recently completed her PhD in Neuroscience, investigating how nutrition and rehabilitation can support neuroplasticity in older individuals following traumatic brain injury or stroke. Her doctoral research was conducted in collaboration with Danone in the Netherlands, where she also worked as a visiting scientist. She has additional research experience from roles at UCL and Queen Mary University of London, collaborating with pharmaceutical partners on brain injury studies across the lifespan.

Alongside her academic work, Tatenda gained valuable experience and developed a keen interest in medical communications and scientific engagement. Her experience included being a Student Ambassador for the biotechnical company, Promega and an internship through the Kohlrabi trainee consultancy programme supporting early-stage science and technology start-up companies.

In her free time, Tatenda enjoys visual art and spending time exploring London’s galleries.

Welcome to the Porterhouse family, Tatenda! We look forward working with you, and to the insight and energy you will bring to the team.
