Porterhouse Medical was thrilled to welcome the senior leadership team from Indigo Medical to our Reading office recently – a pivotal moment in our shared journey as part of the SCIRIS family of agencies.
The day was all about getting to know each other better – not just what we do, but how we work, what drives us, and what makes each team tick. The teams explored where the company strengths meet, Indigo Medical’s expertise in precision diagnostics and Porterhouse’s own flair for insight-led, creative, and scientific medical communications – and how we can bring those together to further enhance the work we do for our clients.
We examined the shared challenges across the evolving healthcare landscape, from shifting client needs to optimising resource alignment on increasingly complex, cross-functional projects. At the heart of the discussion was a shared commitment to unlocking the potential of our collective expertise, including specialist groups. One exciting outcome was the creation of a “Centre of Cancer Excellence” to combine our deep oncology experience and develop integrated, high-impact solutions that go further for patients and clients alike.
Looking ahead, there is a plan for combined focused working sessions across client services and scientific strategy, and to explore what magic our editorial and design teams can add to our solutions.
People First: Growing together and having fun doing it
At the heart of both our agencies is the knowledge that the key to our success is the people we employ. The meeting sparked several initiatives to foster talent development across our teams – from training to shared internship programmes and university partnerships. By sharing our resources, supporting each other’s growth, and creating new opportunities together, we’re not just building capability – we’re building a stronger community.
But beyond the strategy sessions, what really stood out was the energy in the room. From the very first round of introductions, it was clear that our shared sense of purpose is matched by a shared sense of humour. As the teams talked, laughed, and bounced ideas around, it became obvious that the foundation of any strong collaboration is real connection.
As we move forward together, we’re reminded:
“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” – Henry Ford.
