As part of our mission to help improve people’s lives, each year Porterhouse Medical Group selects a charity partner to support with fundraising events, using our communications expertise to raise awareness for their cause.
In 2020, we partnered with First Days Children’s Charity, a charity that works to help children whose families are struggling financially and reduce the long-term impact of poverty by providing the important things that children need for their early years at home and for at school.
First Days does amazing work and the impact of the charity’s tireless efforts has been felt more than ever during the pandemic. It has been supporting local families during what has been (and still remains) a very challenging and uncertain time.
We are very proud that our charity team managed to raise a total of £1,770.44 for First Days across the year through numerous virtual events, which included a virtual bake-off and seasonal activities.
This year, we are delighted to announce that our charity partner will be … drum roll, please … YoungMinds!
YoungMinds is a charity that looks after the mental health of children and young people, with a mission of making sure all young people get the mental health support they need. As a busy healthcare communications agency, the team at Porterhouse is very aware of the importance of mental health and, with the uncertainties that accompany continued social distancing measures and lockdowns, we are proud to support the essential work that YoungMinds does.
At Porterhouse, we are passionate about promoting awareness and raising funds for important causes. On 12 February, we kicked this off with a virtual Valentine’s Day ‘dress to impress’ cocktail-making social, which included a raffle to raise money for YoungMinds.
Our enthusiastic charity team is looking forward to planning more events for the months ahead – watch this space!
