At Porterhouse, we are always proud to support the Communiqué Awards, a leading healthcare and medical communications event that recognises the excellent work done by our global industry to communicate developments that make a positive change to healthcare professional and patients’ lives worldwide.
This year was no exception with our UK team being finalists in the Excellence in National or Local Education Meetings/Stand-Alone Events, sponsoring two new, innovation categories in the Awards The Porterhouse Medical Award for Innovation in Scientific Communications and The Porterhouse Medical Award for Innovation in Healthcare Communications, and Joint Managing Director and Founder, Jon Hallows being a member of the judging panel.
The key difference for 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was the requirement for the awards ceremony to be held as a virtual event. Streamed in people’s homes, this year’s live event was watched by an impressive 1400 attendees. The event recognised a comprehensive range of companies from the industry across 29 categories of excellence, encompassing 50 different agency finalists, 40 pharma companies and 10 charities.
Brian Parsons Joint Managing Director and Founder of the Porterhouse Medical Group, who presented the two Porterhouse awards, commented: “It was great to be part of the Communiqué Awards, to support our industry and acknowledge the innovative work that we do to reach out and have a positive impact on healthcare professionals and public health worldwide. Now more than ever, it is crucial that medical information is communicated clearly and is tailored appropriately to its target audience. Although some of the excitement of the live event at the Grosvenor House Hotel was missing, I thought the organisers did an excellent job to showcase what’s possible with live-streamed events.
“Having quickly adapted many meetings and events to a virtual format for our own clients, we understand the level of work involved, so would like to congratulate the organisers of this seamlessly executed virtual Communiqué Awards, which also allowed access to the ceremony to so many more attendees and continues to elevate the profile of fantastic work done by our industry. And of course, we extend our congratulations to all of the Communiqué Award finalists and winners for 2020.”
