As most of the Porterhouse family are working from home this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to have our usual company Christmas party. Instead, the Porterhouse social committee organised a lovely hamper for each member of the team, and a fun virtual festive social.
The celebrations kicked off with opening of the Secret Santa presents, a look back at Porterhouse over the last 18 years with Jon and Brian, and a pop-Christmas quiz!
This was followed by virtual horse racing, complete with a few sheep and cheese rolling races thrown in!
It was great to see so many smiling Porterhouse family faces at the event, embracing our company values of ‘humour and happiness in our working lives’, and taking part with the usual Porterhouse enthusiasm.
We also welcomed some guest visitors from Porterhouse – including Zoro, Perky the Pig, and Allum the Angel.
Plus, we had an unexpected Christmas miracle, as one of the team (who wishes to remain anonymous) scored zero points across the entire event. The statisticians worked out that there was a 0.37% chance of this happening. When interviewed about the miracle, the response was:
“yeah, whatevs!”
A big thank you to Dev the Porterhouse Christmas Elf for organising our remote Secret Santa gift giving, and the social committee (India, Clara, Cat and Gema) for organising such a fun event and keeping us all connected!
