With the majority of our staff working from home because of the current COVID-19 situation, it is more important than ever for our employees to look after their mental and physical well-being.
Remote working can be challenging and is something that not everybody is used to, especially for long periods of time. As our Mental Health First Aiders at Porterhouse, Rose and Rebecca are moving their mental health safeguarding services online; they will set up virtual meetings via Skype and telephone to discuss any issues that members of our team are facing and will help to relieve any feelings of isolation.
Here are some tips for productive and socially connected, and looking after your physical and mental health while working from home:
👍 Get up and ready for the working day – set an alarm, shower and get out of your pyjamas!
👍 Set up a dedicated workspace
👍 Arrange routine Skype and telephone calls with your team (including our much-loved tradition ‘beer o’clock’ on a Friday, which has now gone virtual.)
👍 Schedule regular breaks throughout the day
👍 Ask for help if you ae struggling with your work or change of work environment!
👍 Stay active – stretch, go for a walk or work out at home
👍 Eat a healthy diet
It is important that we keep communicating as a company and attending meetings via Skype and telephone, and don’t just rely on emails to get through this difficult time.
Stay safe and remember to check in with your colleagues and stay connected!
