We are delighted to announce that our Editorial Services Director, Rob, has been selected as a finalist in the Women in Business Awards 2016, in the category ‘Champion of Change’. As you might have guessed, the Women in Business Awards are open to both men and women, and serve to celebrate the achievements of companies or individuals who have made a real difference to the role of women in business over the past 12 months. Rob has reached the finals of the Champion of Change category, an award which recognises and rewards those who have implemented cultural change in their working environments.
Rob has been at the heart of many of the exciting changes that have taken place within Porterhouse in recent years. Firstly, he has been a driving force for the development of our company purpose and values. These values are now integrated into everything we do: our personal development plans, our performance reviews and how we provide feedback internally, and how we interact with each other and our clients. They’re even written on the walls in our office! He has also championed a number of internal advancements in the company, bringing in new training and development programmes. Finally, Rob has been very active within graduate recruitment over the last few years, visiting universities to spread the word about careers in medical communications, and ensuring that Porterhouse continues to be seen as an attractive employer for the very best graduates.
As Rob himself explains, ‘I’m honoured to be selected as a finalist in these prestigious awards which serve as recognition for the work that the whole company has been doing with regard to our purpose and values over the last 12 months. Having been with the company for 11 years, I feel that these values have always been there, just never before articulated. Since launching our purpose and values, we have seen a number of tangible achievements that the whole company is extremely proud of, such as our Queen’s Award for Enterprise, and also our Investors in People accreditation. At Porterhouse, we have an extremely strong and passionate team of incredibly talented individuals, who I am hugely proud to manage and work alongside. One of our core values is based on supporting each other, as a family, and this is a behaviour I see every single day in the office.’
The winner will be announced at the annual Women in Business awards taking place on Thursday, September 15.
Good luck Rob!
