Porterhouse Medical is 15 years old next month and plans to celebrate delivering on its mission – “Developing a shared vision with our partners to deliver programmes to improve people’s lives” – for a decade and a half.
Over the years, many of our global programmes have had a real and long-lasting impact on patient care because we strive to keep patient experience at the forefront when developing programmes for healthcare professionals. For example, one of our landmark programmes has supported the recruitment of young clinicians into a rare-disease area that was at risk of becoming under-served by the medical community. This has ensured that patients with this condition continue to receive the care they deserve.
We also like to do our bit for the local community. We have a charity coordinator and invite nominations from staff for a new charity to support each year. In 2016, we raised approximately £2,000 for the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, and efforts are well underway to support our charity for 2017, SportsAble. We also participate in events related to raising disease awareness, such as Jeans for Genes Day, MPS Awareness Day, World Pancreatic Cancer Day and Rare Disease Day.
So, happy birthday to Porterhouse, and best wishes to patients everywhere.
