As part of our mission to help improve people’s lives, every year Porterhouse employees select a local charity partner to support through fundraising events and by using the agency’s communications expertise to raise awareness for its cause.
Last year, the Porterhouse charity group hosted a ‘Would I Lie to You’ Valentine’s quiz and a Porterhouse Pet Show, organised a team to join the Reading Legal Walk and arranged a Christmas Raffle! These events, and the generosity of the Porterhouse teams, raised a grand total of £2,000 for our two chosen charities, the Reading Refugee Support Group and Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.
Big thanks to our charity team (Emily, Jerusha, Laura, Naomi, Risa and Steve) for all their hard work throughout the year, and to the Porterhouse family for their enthusiasm and generosity in supporting these worthwhile causes.
For 2023, we are delighted to announce that our teams have voted to support a charity local to our Reading office, Berkshire Women’s Aid! (BWA).
BWA work with victims of domestic abuse and their children – regardless of their gender, ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation or disability – providing confidential support, advocacy and places of safety in Reading, Wokingham and Bracknell, and West Berkshire, UK. Their vision is to break the cycle of domestic abuse now and for the future, and to help find immediate routes to safety to allow survivors to recover and rebuild their lives.

At Porterhouse, we are passionate about promoting awareness and raising funds for important causes, and our enthusiastic team is looking forward to getting involved with the BWA’s valuable work. Watch this space!
