First held in 1974, World Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5 June, and is the United Nations’ global platform for raising awareness of environmental issues and generating action for the protection of the planet. Hosted in Pakistan, this year’s launch event will entertain and inspire, featuring powerful messages from world leaders, activists, celebrities and more.

Porterhouse’s environmental mission
As part of our mission to improve lives, at Porterhouse we recognise that we have a responsibility to the environment and to do our part in preventing the escalation of the climate crisis. We are conscious of how we interact with the planet and the importance of ensuring that we become more eco-friendly in all aspects of our professional lives. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact across all areas of the business to tackle climate change and have made sure that the continuous improvement of our environmental performance is an integral part of our business strategies and operating methods.
In March 2021, we were proud to obtain ISO14001 certification. We have also implemented an environmental policy. A copy of this policy, which also includes our mission statement and list of the policy aims, is published on our website: porterhousemedical.com/resources/
We hope that our efforts in obtaining ISO 14001 certification, including the creation of our environmental policy, will inspire our staff, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders to lessen their own impacts on the environment.

Becoming #GenerationRestoration
As the official World Environmental Day website aptly says:
‘This is our moment.
We cannot turn back time.
But we can grow trees, green our cities, rewild our gardens, change our diets and clean up rivers and coasts.
We are the generation that can make peace with nature.’
Let’s all work together towards a brighter future and become #GenerationRestoration
