Welcoming the latest new members of the Porterhouse family

Porterhouse Medical Group is delighted to welcome two more new starters to our growing healthcare communications agency group.

We are pleased to welcome Hannah Tomlin, who has joined our global scientific services team as an Associate Medical Writer and will be based in the Nottingham office. Hannah is highly qualified for her new role, with a BSc in biological sciences from the University of East Anglia. After graduating, she moved to the University of Nottingham to complete an MSc in molecular genetics and diagnostics. She then continued on at the university to undertake a PhD, which involved the generation of a human extracellular matrix model and gene editing of this model using CRISPR/Cas9, within the Gene Regulation and RNA Biology Group. During her PhD, Hannah gained valuable experience from a 3-month placement at AstraZeneca in Sweden. She has a passion for science outreach and education, and she became one of the coordinators for the Nottingham branch of the ‘Pint of Science’ festival in 2017.

In October 2020, Hannah contributed to the setting up of an asymptomatic COVID-19 testing service at the University of Nottingham, screening up to 1,500 samples from staff and students daily, and she has been instrumental in the university gaining UKAS accreditation.

Outside of work, Hannah enjoys playing tennis and has recently completed a paddle boarding course for beginners.

We are also delighted to welcome Holly Hardstone to our global scientific services team as an Associate Medical Writer, based in our Reading office. Holly graduated in 2019 with a master’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Bath. Having worked in a pharmacy in Wimbledon, UK, since graduating, Holly joins other Porterhouse members with valuable first-hand pharmacy experience. She has always had a passion for writing, and her personal highlights of her final year research project, focused on microbiology, were writing the laboratory report, undertaking a literature review and giving a poster presentation. Holly is now looking forward to combining her passion for science and healthcare with her love of writing and communication.

Holly’s main interests outside of work are reading, going to the theatre, and exploring London – where she lives.

Jan Coetzee, Talent Manager at Porterhouse Medical Group, commented, “I am thrilled to welcome our recent new starters to the group. At Porterhouse, we love watching our team members grow and develop their careers, and I look forward to seeing both Hannah and Holly flourish at Porterhouse.”
