Porterhouse is delighted to welcome two new interns to our internship programme, Porterhouse Pathfinders.

The Porterhouse Pathfinders programme offers experience and training in one of two global agencies within the healthcare industry: Porterhouse Medical, specialising in scientific and medical communications, or Porterhouse Insights, an insights, research and evidence consultancy.

These 12-week internships offer bright and enthusiastic life-sciences graduates the opportunity to experience first-hand the workings of successful global agencies and how they meet the evolving needs of their pharmaceutical and biotech clients in the development and promotion of medicines and medical products. In addition to gaining experience of the latest industry-specific tools and processes, and providing general support to our relevant teams, candidates undertake their own supervised project.

Firstly, we welcome Rachel Harris, who has joined the Porterhouse Medical team in the Reading Office. Rachel has just finished her 2nd year at the University of Reading studying for a BSc in Pharmacology, after which she is looking for a career in either medical communications or medical affairs. She is a keen volunteer, teaching children lifesaving skills, mentoring young children in secondary school, and has recently joined St. John Ambulance.

In her free time, Rachel enjoys swimming, travelling, and playing the piano.

Secondly, we would like to welcome Alice Commander. Alice is a third year MSci Human Biology student at the University of Birmingham. Alice has joined Porterhouse Insights, also based in the Reading office.

In her free time, Alice plays hockey, the flute and has an interest in cars. She also enjoys volunteering, having fundraised for NHS Charities and Amnesty international and has volunteered at Myton Hospice and Park View Care Home.

Welcome to the Porterhouse family Rachel and Alice, we hope you enjoy your time with us and go on to choose exciting careers in the healthcare communications or insights research industries as a result.

At Porterhouse, our people make the difference. Our globally acclaimed agencies work hard to develop their talented teams, a feature that has been recognised through our achievement of the Gold accreditation in July 2019 from Investors in People , the international standard for people management.

Our mix of scientific expertise, creativity and industry knowledge ensures that our powerful medical insights and scientific and medical communications stand out from the rest.
