The team at Porterhouse Medical is thrilled that Rob Pilbrow (group director, scientific services), has been selected as a finalist for Healthcare Communications Leader in the Communique Awards 2018.
As a long-standing member of the Porterhouse family, having worked at the agency for his entire career, we already know Rob to be a great communications leader.
Currently, he leads the scientific services team of 20 medical writers and scientific experts, and aids the senior management team in setting the strategic direction of the company. He has expertise in health economics and health policy, having completed an MSc in this field, and has subsequently applied this knowledge as an internal and external advisor.
Working closely with our recent subsidiary Porterhouse Medical US, Rob is a medical publications specialist and a CMPP-accredited member of the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals; he also recently participated as a faculty member at The International Publication Planning Association (TIPPA) 2018 Annual Meeting.
When asked how he felt about the nomination, Rob said, “I would be delighted, inspired and humbled to be recognised as a Healthcare Communications Leader. I credit my industry progression to the opportunities I have received and my superb colleagues. Most importantly, I continue to enjoy what I do as much as the day I joined the industry.”
Brian Parsons (joint managing director of Porterhouse Medical) said, “From the earliest day, it was very clear that Rob has the skills and abilities to make a great leader at Porterhouse and within healthcare communications in general. His enthusiasm for the various roles he has enjoyed at Porterhouse has been infectious, and his contribution to the success of the company vital. I’m delighted he’s in the running for this award and think he fully deserves it.”
Last but not least, Rob is a passionate advocate of medical communications as a career option and has participated in multiple career events and outreach activities to spread the word about medical communications and introduce the next generation to our exciting industry.
The finals gala dinner is on 28 June, and as sponsors of the Communique Awards (http://www.pmlive.com/awards/communique), our team is looking forward to the opportunity to cheer him on.
Proud and passionate, we are Porterhouse.
