Putting our mission into practice: Porterhouse Medical’s charity round-up 2018–2019

As part of our mission to help improve people’s lives, each year Porterhouse Medical selects a local charity partner to support with fundraising events, using our communications expertise to raise awareness for their cause.

In 2018, we partnered with the Willows Support Group (www.willowssupportgroup.co.uk), a bereavement support charity for people in the Reading area who have suffered the loss of a baby before, during or shortly after birth.

The Porterhouse team has also raised funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK (https://www.pancreaticcancer.org.uk); the ovarian cancer support charity Ovacome (https://www.ovacome.org.uk); and the disability sports club SportsAble (https://www.sportsable.co.uk).

We are delighted to reveal that our team raised a total of £1,994.88 for charity across the year, through numerous sporting events, bake-offs and pyjama days.

This year, we are proud to announce that we will be raising funds for Launchpad in 2019. Based in central Reading, Launchpad is a homeless charity that helps to prevent homelessness and support vulnerable individuals via a variety of services, including by providing safe accommodation and individually tailored support, and by raising awareness of homelessness. Learn more about Launchpad here: http://www.launchpadreading.org.uk/our-work/.

At Porterhouse, we are passionate about promoting awareness and raising funds for important causes, and our enthusiastic team is looking forward to getting involved with Launchpad’s great work. Watch this space!
