As part of our mission to help improve people’s lives, each year Porterhouse Medical Group selects a local charity partner to support using our communications expertise to raise awareness for their cause.

Our charity team also works hard throughout the year to organise fundraising activities for the chosen organisation through numerous events such as sporting competitions, pyjama days and bake offs.

This year, we are proud to announce that our teams have voted to support not just one but two worthwhile charity partners.

The first, Reading Refugee Support Group, is a charity that helps refugees and asylum seekers to rebuild their lives in Berkshire.
Established in 1994, the charity supports refugees from more than 50 countries who have escaped war, violence, persecution and modern slavery. They provide life-changing services such as a safe space, Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC)–accredited advice, practical aid and social activities. They also campaign to raise awareness of the issues that refugees face.

Our second charity partner for 2022, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, is based in Loughborough near our Nottingham office. Like the Reading Refugee Support Group, Rainbows was also established in 1994. It provides care and support to children affected by devastating disease, and their families.

The charity offers palliative care for children and young people who have a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, creates memories for families to treasure, and provides comfort and compassion at the time of and following the death of a child or young person.

At Porterhouse, we are passionate about promoting awareness and raising funds for important causes, and our enthusiastic team is looking forward to supporting the great work of both charities.
