Porterhouse welcomes new starters in our US and UK offices

Porterhouse Medical Group is delighted to welcome two new starters to our global teams in the US and the UK as we continue to expand our global healthcare communications agency group.

First, we are pleased to welcome Bertha Vandegrift, who has joined the growing team at Porterhouse Medical US as a Medical Writer. Bertha graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, Illinois, USA, in 2019 with a BS in molecular biochemistry and biophysics, and then followed this with a PhD in physiology and biophysics from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Medicine. On top of her academic qualifications and awards, Bertha has a background in scientific writing, research and education. She has experience with writing, editing and reviewing grant applications, manuscripts, abstracts, educational materials, slide decks and press releases.

In addition, Bertha has had a number of her pieces published and has written about a variety of topics, including neuroscience, addiction, women’s health, muscle physiology, nutrition and cardiovascular disease. In her spare time, she loves gardening and hiking.

Second, we are delighted to welcome Naomi Huckett, who has joined the client services team in Reading, UK, as an Account Executive, having graduated with a BSc in biomedical science from the University of Bristol this summer. As part of her degree, she studied a range of topics focused on cellular and molecular biology and had a particular interest in recombinant DNA technology and immunopathology.

In her spare time, Naomi volunteers at a homeless shelter, serving hot meals to the homeless – a very worthy pastime that fits well with the Porterhouse charitable activities making a positive difference to peoples’ lives. She also enjoys cooking vegan meals and hosting pop-up dinner parties, which we are sure many of her new colleagues would like to try!

A big welcome to the Porterhouse family, Bertha and Naomi. We look forward to watching your careers flourish within our growing agency group.

At Porterhouse Medical Group, all members of our teams have a solid scientific or commercial background, allowing them to quickly get to grips with new products, understand and develop key communication objectives, and interpret complex data with accuracy and precision.
