Porterhouse expands its band of merry people in the Nottingham Office

Porterhouse Medical Group is delighted to announce that two new starters have joined our expanding healthcare communications agency group.

We are pleased to welcome Katie Poundall (left) to our global scientific services team as Associate Medical Writer, who will also be based in the Nottingham office.  Katie graduated this summer with an MSci in Biology from the University of Nottingham. Her degree included the important subjects of the pharmacological basis of therapeutics, human physiology, cancer biology and infection and immunity. For her final year project, Katie focussed on analysis and manipulation of large quantities of genomic data to determine the relationships between human genetic variants and disease.

While at university, Katie also started to learn BSL (British Sign Language) to increase awareness and inclusivity for those who are affected by hearing loss, and in her spare time she enjoys playing classical guitar.

We are also delighted to welcome Emily Walters (right), who has joined our global client services team as an Account Executive based in our growing Nottingham office.  Emily graduated from the University of Birmingham this summer with an MSci in Biochemistry.  This integrated master’s degree course included the valuable modules of cancer biology, scientific comms, immunology and chemistry, and for her final year project, Emily researched and identified regulators of Apoptosis-induced Proliferation and their relevance in cancer. Emily is looking for a role where she can combine her love of science and her “people person” nature, and we feel her new role will allow her to put these skills to the test.

Outside of work Emily is a keen dancer and loves baking and experimenting with gluten free recipes (and hopes to supply the Nottingham office with yummy baked goodies).

Erica Cave, Associate Scientific Services Director, who heads up the Nottingham office, commented: “I am thrilled to see the Nottingham office grow and I look forward to seeing both Emily and Katie flourish at Porterhouse. We are so lucky to have them.”

Welcome to the Porterhouse family, Katie and Emily! We look forward to working with you both and hope you enjoy being part of our growing, collaborative team.

At Porterhouse Medical Group, science, insight and creativity are integral to everything that we do. Our expert teams work together to create compelling narratives and impactful communications programmes that make a positive change to people’s lives.
