Wednesday 8 June was the fifth annual MedComms Day, an opportunity for med comms professionals across the globe to share their experiences of life in our fantastic industry. At Porterhouse Medical, we had great fun creating a wide range of materials to share our own picture of life in med comms, whether as a writer, editor, account manager or creative.
We kick-started the day by creating a short film, featuring some of our lovely team members describing what they enjoy most about working in the med comms industry.
The more camera-shy among us contributed works in our favourite medium: the written word. Stories from Senior Account Executive Eliza, Senior Events Coordinator Barbara and Medical Writer Maddy (that’s me) gave a more focused insight into these diverse roles. While they highlight the variety in our daily lives, our stories are unified by enthusiasm for our work and our fellow team members.
Our fantastic artwork team also created a fabulously eye-catching infographic that beautifully portrayed a year in numbers at Porterhouse. Highlights were our rapid growth, gaining 10 new starters over the year, and our huge achievement of winning a Queen’s Award for Enterprise (International Trade).
In addition to all the professional insights we imparted, MedComms Day also gave us the opportunity to share highlights from the more fun side of life at Porterhouse. Our Friday ‘beer o’clock’ occurs in a timely fashion every week, now with the option of gin and tonic for the gluten-intolerant among us. You can certainly say we appreciate diversity at Porterhouse.
