Introducing the latest Mental Health First Aiders at Porterhouse

At Porterhouse Medical Group, as a busy healthcare communications agency, we are very aware of the importance of mental well-being; therefore, we have a team of trained Mental Health First Aiders to help support the well-being of the Porterhouse family.

As many of our staff have been working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been more important than ever to think about how to look after our mental and physical health and stay connected. Our Mental Health First Aiders act as a point of contact and reassurance, listening to any stresses or issues that our team may be experiencing in their personal or work lives and providing information and advice on professional organisations that may be able to help. They ensure that there is always someone available for our team to talk to if there’s anything that may be affecting their well-being or if they have any concerns about others who may be struggling.

Now that many of us are starting to get back into the office and are ecstatic to be working side by side with our colleagues once again (whether this is full time or as part of a hybrid mix of home and office working), we are delighted to announce that we have two newly qualified Mental Health First Aiders to provide support during this transition. The new Mental Health First Aiders on the team are Alex Stainer, a Senior Medical Writer who is based at our Reading office, and Emma Watterson, a Medical Writer based at our Nottingham office.

One of our key values here at Porterhouse Medical Group is “Together as a family, we grow and flourish”; therefore, we are proud and grateful that Rose, Rich, Alex and Emma are living our values and have stepped up to support our busy team.
