Account Manager (US-remote) – Job description
We are currently looking for an Account Manager to join our busy client services team. The successful candidate will have prior experience working in medical communications, as well as exceptional problem-solving, project management, and diplomacy skills. Strong face-to-face and written communication skills and a proven ability to develop enduring client relationships are also essential. The successful candidate should be prepared to work in a fast-¬paced, creative environment with occasional opportunities for travel.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Proactively managing project scope and budgets to ensure that any issues are communicated to clients and that project profitability is maintained
- Proactively driving projects forward and seeing them through to completion in a timely manner
- Working closely with internal teams at Porterhouse Medical to manage priorities and ensure that solutions are delivered to the highest standard
- Working closely with clients and healthcare professionals to understand their needs and translate these into opportunities for the development of high-quality medical communication solutions
- Developing an understanding of new therapy areas quickly and comprehensively, inspiring confidence with clients
- Identifying opportunities for new business within existing accounts
- Supporting new business initiatives, including attendance and presentation at pitch meetings

- At least 4 – 5 years of experience in a client services role in a medical communications agency or pharmaceutical company with roles of increasing responsibility
- A proven track record of client and account management and the delivery of organic growth and new business
- Experience of managing and developing a team, and proven leadership and influencing skills in a multidisciplinary environment
- Strong financial literacy and numeracy skills, and excellent attention to detail
Salary Range ($85,000 – $100,000)
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, prior experience, skills, competencies, and therapeutic area proficiency needed in the role. Additional company benefits include paid time off, health/dental/vision care, available 401k plan well as a discretionary employer paid bonus.
